Many nanny cams now come with the ability to view them live over the internet BUT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT is the ability to view the last X hours over the internet, showing only movement/activity.

This can be done with a motion activated webcam that you can (wirelessly or using wires) mount anywhere in your home and go to something like Tiny Chat or skype to view, if you use skype you will also need remote desktop support Teamviewer for example.

Q. Is there a program that i can use to monitor another computer on my network?
i would like to monitor my child's computer from my own pc and was told that there is a program that can allow me to check his computer while on mine. it is a program used in offices and schools so employers/teachers are aware of what the other computers on the network are doing while they are doing it. it would be ideal to have a program where other "net nanny" features (like website, keyword, and chat histories are logged, reported and emailed to me) but i am mainly interested in finding this program that provides immediate surveilance of the child's computer from my own.

Q. Would i be able to tell?
i know i this sounds wrong, but ever since i had my baby four months ago (almost five) i have always pictured the worst happening. i worry that people will hurt her and i won't be able to stop it. i even worried about leaving her with my own mother after i had first had her because i know my mom is sometimes a little impatient. i'm getting better, and i try to give people the benefit of the doubt. my daughter has a private babysitter, and sometimes in the morning lately when i call, no one picks up the phone. i don't know if it's because they are taking a nap or she's using the computer for her other job, or running errands. i really like the lady and i think that she is a good person. but there is also a young man that has been living there and he's around 21. if there is no answer i start to panic and a lot of times they are just at the post office or something so then i feel stupid. sometimes these horrible images pop into my head and i get this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. i used to work in child care and i know how to tell usually if a toddler is being sexually abused, but i'm not sure about an infant. i'm not saying it's happening, and i haven't noticed any weird signs -but then again, in a baby how could you? i would pop in, but the babysitter lives about an hour and 15 minutes away from my work. my husband works in that area so he takes her there in the morning. i don't know if many of you have read my past posts, but he's a lazy son of a gun and i can't get him to pop in and check on what's going on. i can't get him to do anything. of course it ticks me off royally but there are so many other problems between us this is just one more thing. but it's an important thing to me to know. i want to put a tape recorder or nanny cam, but i don't know how it would go "undiscovered"? any advice on "signs" i should look for, etc. or what i should do?

Hey! Worrying about your baby is totally normal... !!! I worry too about my newborn and everything that could happen. I go nuts during the night, I wake up and make sure the cat has not found a way to her crib (even though I made sure he couldn't before she was even born), make sure she breaths just fine... But you'll have to find a way to relax and trust others -- I'm sure your mom can handle her just fine --after all, she raised you. As for the babysitter, you should talk to her about it --I wouldn't like it either. Who knows what may happen and you need to know you can reach them. As for looking for the signs on an infant... I may be wrong but a baby's privates are so tiny, I'm sure there would be marks down there and you'd notice them when you'd change her diaper. (I thought about it too, and it's the conclusion that reassured me) You could ask a doctor to know if there are any signs. But all in all, I'm sure you are worrying over nothing at all. If not, find a place where you would feel secure and trust the people who work there.
