You can't hack into a webcam without accessing there camera. And to do that you would have to hack into it. Or break the law. Besides a lot of webcams have a grean lite that turns on when they are in use. Do you want to let the person know your watching them?

i am hearing rumors about mallicious programs on the internet that make it possible for people to watch your webcam even if you configured it private and didnt invite them. i have had an error telling me i could not start broadcasting because a system was using it (i dont remember the exact error). it worked fine the second time i tried.

Ha, I've wondered this since watching Die Hard 4 where they were not only able to watch from the web cam but they could turn the web cam on a different angle from a remote location. There are a few people saying here that it can definitely be done but I can't find any links or anything, anyone got any (not to do it, just to conclusively prove that it can or can't be done!!) I'd go with above posters and switch it off or put a blanket over it or something until you can find out for sure. EDIT: Bummer, I'm keep coming back checking for someone to prove one way or another if this can be done or if it's just something you see on high-tech action movies. Good question!

Not it's not. According to the UCMJ. If it interferes with your work or you get caught by a superior or someone turns you in, you can get an Article 15 or DD214 and discharged. If the lawyer can prove that by doing this act it violates your ability to function then it's all over for you. There are rules for EVERYTHING when you are in the military. And to "iamandy" - rules apply while IN country and are even stricter out of country.
