Q. Build a bear ville bears do the mini furry friends bring a code?
i was wondering if the mini furry friends from build a bear bring a code to bring them to life online?

Unfortunately the mini furry friends do not include codes that allow them to be used on BearVille. Only the full sized Build A Bear plush animals that include birth certificates have such codes.

Q. Can i bring my water heater up to code with out hiring a plumber?
our home waranty company said they will not install a new water heater unless one of their vendors brings it up to code, which i think is a bunch of bull...their plumber quoted us $530 just to bring it up to code.....how difficult is it to bring it up to code? they say it needs a drain system installed. yes my home warranty company company (hwa) not the homeowners insurance...they say we need a drain pan installed and a drain line going outside....this sounds to me like i can buy a drain pan at home depot and the drain line will consist of running some pvc ...i'm just not sold on the $530 being quoted...

"Boca code just requires you to have a water heater..."

Your water heater should already have a drain on it. There is a valve at the bottom of the tank, if you push the lever water should drain out of it. Sounds like they are trying to get out of having to replace it. All water heaters come with a drain, even 20 year old ones. BOCA code just requires you to have a water heater, not a specific one, and the one you have should be up to code anyway if it was installed properly.

Q. I have a plumber who is trying to charge me $600 worth of things to "bring me up to code"?
the house is only 10 years old. i need to have my water heater replaced in a house we just bought. when the home warrenty assigned plumber showed up, he told me that i needed to pay $600 for grounding of the electical system to bring it up to code. i dont know if there is a 'code' problem or not. the reason for my question is that i thought if you were doing a replacement of an appliance, there was not a need to bring up to code. i thought the code check was only for new install or upgrade. can anyone confirm or correct my thinking? thanks, joe

considering the age of the house the electrical system would have to be up to code because of its build date and the nec laws in place at that time...they havent changed that much in the last ten years as far as home electrical sysytems go.....i would ask for the warranty company to send another plumber or i would just do it myself.....

Q. Cost of bring a 1890s house up to code?
how much do you think it would cost to bring a 1890s house up to code? my grandparents house needs a lot of work including a sinking foundation. i know it will be expensive but it's their only house and they can't afford to buy a new house.

That is a very general question and no one could truly answer it as it really depends on a lot of other factors. Things such as how big is the home, how many stories does it have, is it pier and beam or slab foundation, where you live has a lot to do with costs as well. Having renovated a few homes in Texas, I can tell you that if you have the work done by professionals it will cost you more than it would to rebuild the home itself regardless of size. If the foundation is pier and beam, that is something you can do yourself. You need to find the trouble areas and find how much you need to raise it up, Purchase a jack or two at your builders supply for about $300 each and raise it placing metal shims as you go. The remove the jack and go on to the next place. A slab foundation requires lots of digging, measuring, metal shims, breaking jacks, and piers to force into the ground down to the bedrock in order to raise it properly (if you do not install gutters around the home, it is a moot point as with drought and rain it will cause the foundation to heave again). If the plumbing needs to be replaced and the home is pier and beam, it is simple enough to crawl under the home and replace the piping while slab requires jacking up the floors and cutting out sections of walls to do it properly (pros cost about $20,000 for this). As for the electrical, It could cost around $40,000+ to replace the wiring, put in a new junction box and meters +permits, etc for an electrician but you could probably do it yourself for around $10000 and that means you need to get the proper permits and make sure you know what you are doing or you might burn the house down. I think that's awesome you want to do that for your grandparents but it is going to be costly. Get at least 3 quotes for each project that needs to be done. Make sure that whomever you get to do the work is bonded, licensed, has more than a 90 day warranty and has the insurance to pay for whatever they destroy. A few hazard tips for you.....do the foundation first as they will discover water leaks and such after they have lifted the foundation especially if it is slab as any work done to the foundation (i.e., digging for pipes) after it has been lifted will null your warranty.

Q. Should workplace dress code bring back hosiery?
it is getting out of hand, young women these days going to work in a workplace bare legged, they wear nice outfit but wear no pantyhose or stocking go along with it, it really degrade their appearance, some of the major workplace dress code are not require women to wear hosiery any more, they should consider to bring it back in my opinion.

"Maybe it should not be a workplace dress code..."

Maybe it should not be a workplace dress code, but I totally agree, that it just looks better. Sexier maybe too, but it really looks much nicer. Some of them have pale legs, that just look like not belonging to the outfit. Hosiery really rounds up a nice dress, and shouldn't miss.

Q. What is a code to bring back your top friends if you used a code to make it go away?
i used a code to make my friends go away on my 1.0 profile.. is there a code that can bring them back .. because i deleted the code from my profile but my friends still wont show up. plz help!!!

"I don't believe there is a code to bring them back..."

I don't believe there is a code to bring them back, but it's very possible that you didn't delete the entire code. Maybe there is a second part to the code that's in a different section of your profile. I'd look through all of the sections and make sure you deleted it all.

Q. If i bring the key code on my owners manual to my truck to a locksmith can they cut a perfect new key?
also!!! can i take the key code to walmart and have them cut me a new key? i want to avoid the dealer at all costs.

"A key if they find your key code..."

Sorry man, the key codes work off a manufacturer's database on purpose so no one can make a key if they find your key code . And key machines at Walmarts as well as most Locksmiths work off an original key, I think.
