Can someone from a different country cosign my student loan for me? urgent!? i have an uncle in canada who is willing to cosign any loan i may need but i'm not sure whether or not that is allowed. i'm not sure which loan i am applying for yet otherwise i would call them directly. does anyone know about anything that would prohibit a foreigner from cosigning a student loan? please help!
You cannot cosign in a different Country. Cosigning is supposed to be security for the lending company but a person in another country cannot be caught because they fall outside of the local laws.

There are two things you can do:
1. Ask your parents to co-sign for a loan
2. Pick a copy of Suze Ormans book Young Fabulous & Broke it is written for young people graduating college with student loans & little or no credit.

Student loan help:urgent? when applying for the student loan i did not require a maintenance loan and just asked for a tuition fee loan which has now been completed. however my circumstances have chaged an will require a maintenance loan. is it to late to ask for one because i cant do it on the website.
I think you will have to phone and speak to someone directly, you'll get your point across better and maybe you'll be able to speak to someone who can help you rather than email a secretary in an office.
