Harold | Q. Is my wiring covered by my home insurance?
Your wiring can be covered by home insurance so that when you want to rewire then the insurance can cover it. Only if rewiring is done in the home because the previous wiring was at fault. If you have not covered wiring with te insurance then you will not have the rewiring covered under the insurance. sandra james

jason.bell | Q. Is wiring covered in home insurance?
do you mean if a fire or acc. happened , if you ask for that the answer will be yes sure, the insurance company will change the wiring with all other things, but if you ask for upgrading the wiring or fix it the answer will be f course not , the homeowners insurance company will not pay even a portion of the wiring upgrade. That`s not the purpose of homeowner`s insurance.

 Q. Where can i find a bike with built-in computer that monitors heart-rate, calorie burn, distance, speed etc.? i would like to find a bicycle with a built-in computer with sensors in the hand-grips (similar to those on some work-out exercise cycles found in health clubs) that provides feedback on heart rate, calorie burn, distance covered and average speed. i wonder if such a bicycle could include sattelite navigation>
"Plan on spending 300 to..."
the only bikes with builtin computers are usually stationary exercise bikes
you will need to buy these things and install them on your bike
Garmin makes the best GPS systems, and some are integrated with the other info (ie. mph, cadence, heartrate, etc.) plan on spending 300 to 500 if you want absolutely everything that is available

 Q. Is there a bike with built-in computer sensor for heart rate, calorie burn, distance, average speed etc? i would like to buy a good touring bicycle available with sensors similar to those on some exercise bikes that pick up your pulse from the hand-held grips, give you feedback on your heart rate, the calories you have burned, the distance you have covered and your average speed. alternatively, is there a good quality and easy to fit add-on to my bicycle, perhaps one that includes satellite navigation?
Unfortunately there are no bikes or wheels with built in sensors. The reason is that everyone likes something different when it comes to this. There are so many aftermarket computers to track mileage, speed, etc. that it may take you a while to figure out exactly what you need. Computers from Cateye are great and offer a full range of cycling measurement. Polar brand adds heart rate monitoring and other measurements of your bodies performance. They tend to be more expensive. There are no integrated GPSs yet. But i'd imagine they are coming down the road.
My personal preference is toward wireless computers. They are easy to install and don't clutter your bike with more wires.

 Q. Computer help! ten points best answer? i've had the sims 2 and pets for a few years now but a few months ago i had to uninstall it then when i tried re installing it i'd get to 8% on the first disk then it would say the installation failed. so i took the disk to get it resurfaced twice only to find out the problem was it was scratched up on the outside where the picture was so it wouldn't work. the lady told me to try covering up with a black marker or nail polish. i did but it still doesn't work. i still have both games installed on my old pc which i'm on now. how would i go about getting at least the first disk information from my old computer burned onto a disk so it will go into my new pc. i still have to product key to install it.
or if anyone else knows a way that i could get it to work that would be good too.
if you have a flash drive burn it on to there i had the same problem and it worked for me dont know about you.

 Q. Computer turns off while tower is standing up? my computer shuts down on it own while standing in the normal position, i figured it was to hot so i took of the cover to check things out.
if i leave it on its side i have no problems, but soon as i stand it up two seconds later it shuts off. my big fan kicks on and seems to be running ok. i can leave it on its side but i dont know if that makes burning discs more difficult . any ideas, im a little educated but confused, thanks for any help in advance.
check your wireing to the power sorce and the wiring where it connects to your motherboard. Sounds like you have something that isn't plugged in tightly.
It isn't dustbunnies or it would happen all the time.

 Q. Can you ruin a computer charger if it gets to hot? i am packing up my room to move out and i had my computer on my bed. in the process of moving things around i accidentally covered up my computer charger with my blankets. a bit later i noticed my computer battery symbol in the corner pop up. after trying to figure out why my charger wasn't charging my computer i found it buried under the blankets and the green light was no longer on. it is very hot to the touch. you can't hold it with a firm grip without feeling like you are burning yourself. its a standard dell charger. this may be a silly question, but did i kill it? can it cool down and work again. should i put it in a cooler place to bring the temp down? i just hope its ok...
Generally power supplies run very warm to hot... mainly (as I understand it) because the conversion from AC to DC isn't 100% efficient, that extra power turns into heat.
When I had an adapter die, one of the most obvious signs of that it WAS the adapter was the fact it stayed room-temperature.
Anyway there is a good chance you killed. I guess just let it cool down and check it and see.
I suppose if the power draw on the laptop is greater than what the adapter is meant for, it could get even hotter still. Do you have a way to measure surface temps like an infrared thermometer? Hard data might make it easier to determine if its abnormally hot.

 Q. Car computer trouble. cause? i played my flash drive with downloaded music through my car's fm radio with one of those cigarette-lighter fm transmitters. soon after, my car's computer went haywire and some of my electrical went out. no wiring burnt up, but the computer sent some bad signals to the trans and my tranny ended up going out ($2700). then, my airbag light would shut off ($500). then my alternator went out ($275). luckily, my warranty covered most of it. was there a connection between these events or was it just a coincidence? this is driving me crazy! (no pun intended)
First off, we need to know what kind of car this is. Second, disconnecting your battery will not cause your radio to lose any sort of security code. Your cars computer, also known as a PCM/ECM, has a small internal battery and drivers in it. Disconnecting power to it will not cause it to lose any information on it, much like unplugging your PC from the outlet. Disconnecting your cars battery is really only useful if you have a check engine light and you want to clear the diagnostic trouble code causing the check engine light to turn on. If its something you want to try, with your car turned off, disconnect the negative (black) cable from your battery. Next, sit inside your car and hold the brake pedal for about 30 seconds. This will ensure any residual power is drained from your electrical system. Depending on what kind of car it is, there are some PCM/ECM fuses you may disconnect, but that is on newer model cars.
Please let us know what kind of car you have and we may be able to help you better.

 Q. I have an older hp pavillion xe783 with windows me. the fan quit working while the computer was on,now nothing i unplugged the computer, took off the cover to the tower and the silver box where the fan is was really hot. do i just need to get another fan? or did it burn up my hard drive? what type of fan do i need to get? i've looked on e-bay, and there are so many differeny type of fans. thanks for your help!
Let it cool down for a while. Check if the power connection to the fan arent loose. Try to boot up your computer again. If it still work (and the fan still doenst work), turn it off. Take the fan out and go to a PC repair shop. They will be able to get you the fan you need.
If your PC doesnt boot up, then something is fryed ... probably your CPU. In this case, youre better off buying a new computer.
