When is the next generation for ipod touch coming out? i am probably going to purchase a 32gb ipod touch in the near future and was just wondering when the the next generation is coming out? i was really pissed when i bought an ipod nano and then 2 weeks later they released the nano with the video camera. i just want to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. thanks

Should i get he 32gb ipod touch now or wait all the way to september? i have the the 8gb ipod nano and it is filled up with songs and videos. i need a new ipod and all my friends say to get the ipod touch 32gb. do i get one now or wait 7 months till september, when apple will most likely announce the 3rd gen? i do not want to get one, then have a brand new, better one come out a short while later. thanks

It won't be out in February, more like September. Whether or not it will have a camera remains to be seen but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. FYI: the Nano has a video recorder. It can't take still pictures. People complain about that. People complain about the camera and video on the iPhone. If you want a camera, just buy a camera.

Help deciding on a 8gb or 32gb ipod touch? right now i have a 8gb ipod nano and i wanted to buy a ipod touch. i have always wanted more room for my nano but now for a 8gb touch its 120$ more for a 32gb touch. i'm not sure by putting games on a touch it will take up space, but i would cut down on podcasts and other videos which i've watched. would it be better to get 8gb or 32gb. and the 32 comes with voice controll...but is that really necessary? i have 800 songs. 1 movie. 3 music vids and about 200 pictures i want to put on. plus games?
and does each app take up space?
I would suggest that you get the 32Gig but its hard to say i wish they made like a 22 gig ipod.

Q. Ipod nano or ipod touch? (20c)? so i have the option of a new ipod nano (with video camera and all) or a new 32gb ipod touch. i can't decide! the fact is, my logical side is saying that i don't need an ipod touch, but it'd be nice to have the videos, the apps, the music, the internet, and all that jazz. on the other hand, the nano has a video camera, music, and a few apps of it's own...it also costs less and comes in colors. i have up to $400 to spend with case and warranty.

Since money isn't an issue, it just comes down to what you think you'll use more. Personally, when I was faced with the same decision, I went with the Nano because I have internet and all that on my phone. Plus I wanted the radio, which only the Nano has.
Another thing to consider is the space. With a Nano, the most space you can get is 16 gigs, half of what comes on the Touch you're considering.
If you think you'll enjoy the apps and use the internet and stuff regularly, I say go for the Touch. It's okay if you don't need it. It's okay to splurge on ourselves once in awhile when we can afford it. I don't need my Nano, I just wanted it and had the money for it. ;)

so, i got an ipod nano (4th gen) last x-mas, and recently my dad bought me a samsung omnia. okay, i'm very happy now.
but then the ipod touch 32gb came out and i was like o.o!!!
i have my own money---well, the ones i saved up from my weekly allowance, and i want an ipod touch. but then i just received the nano last dec.. so i don't really know... my mum might flip out if i told her i was gonna buy a new ipod.
so, what do you think? should i get the new touch?

Q. Chipped by nano, buy an ipod touch? i jst dropd black, 2g, 8gb, ipod nano on tiles which has puta little chip/dint on top edge of plastic- pbly 0.5mm deep,3mm wide,1mm high.if i put permanent texta on it, its alot less noticeable.
but originally, i was thinkn of gettn an ipod touch when dy drop in price as my nano is full n i have to delete older songs every time i want to add new ones.ipod touches came out in australia about 6-9 months ago n d 32gb hasn't dropped from $629 – i’d pbly get it on ebay 4 $500, but dy too, will pbly drop by d same amount or %.
so d dint has prompted me to think if i sell my nano on ebay now it’l pbly only get $100-130.based on apple's past price drops ,it’ll pbly drop in about a year an a half - just b4 christmas, 2009.so if you consider d current price, estimate d amount it depreciates in 1.5years, n d amount ipod touches will pbly drop, do you think i would lose less $, by selln it now n buyn an ipod toch.or if sold in 1.5 years,do u think d discount will outweight depreciation of nano?
i guess i'm just sticking with apple name because yes, i like how it looks, its setout. so in terms of looks and capacity, the ipod touch seems ideal for me.
but my inquiry was whether i should:
a. sell my nano and by a touch now
(sell for pbly $100-130/ pbly pay $500)
or
b. sell my nano when the touch goes down in price.
(nano could be worth alot less, touch will be cheaper)
if the touch's price was going to remain fixed for the next 3 years, then ofcourse i would just sell my nano now, before its worth $50. but normally, apple reduces their products after about 2 years. so being that it's already been over 6 months, my concearn depends on the value of my nano in a 1.5 years whether the discount will compromise for it, compared to it i just sold it now. do you know what i mean? if so, do you think i would save more money now or when the discount comes in but my nano is worth less.

umm I was kinda confused at the ending but I would get an ipod touch.. I have an 8g one i paid about 215 for it on ebay. I like it a lot better than other ipods... I hate using the stupid wheel thing to turn it up and down.
And with ipod touch you can go on internet in wifi hotspots. If you jailbreak it (which I've done) the possibilities are endless... Well there are a bunch of things you can do. Like I have a bunch of games on mine, solitaire, tetris, old nintendo games ect.. you can also get books and dictionaries on it. And don't worry about jailbreaking it.. It won't ruin your ipod.

Ipod nano or ipod touch? i can't decide? i'm not sure which one to get, the nano or the touch, either one i get, i'm going to be buying it used from amazon.com . i think that i would only need the nano since i have never had an ipod before and i think i would probably end up just using it for music and some videos. but i would want the touch because like i said before i have never had an mp3 player like the itouch, i have a sansa fuze right now, and kinda bummed that i can't add videos to it(video function doesn't seem to work). so i decided that i wanna upgrade to an ipod because of the itunes wide selection of movies and tv shows. so anyways back to the itouch, i think that i would want it because i have never experienced the apps that it has and some of the apps seem really cool, that i would want to get, and the wi-fi internet is a plus!( but i'm not sure if i would use a lot of apps, i'm not a big gaming person, so i would buy mostly regular apps, i'm afraid if i buy the touch the apps won't be amazing)
but i want the nano because of it's small, shiny, compact size. plus it has an fm radio( which would be a nice break from listening to my own tunes).
also if i choose the nano, i would be able to get it right away(i have $100 bucks saved up for it to buy a used one on amazon)
but if i choose the touch i would have to save up more money to buy the 2nd generation 8gb( the cheapest reliable one from a reliable seller is {shipping included} $155) i don't want to buy a 3rd generation 8gb because it isn't compatible with the iphone os 4 software coming out this summer. or( if i choose the touch) would it be better to get the 32gb 3rd generation(used) for $222? since the 32gb 3rd gen. would be compatible with more features of the iphone 4 software.
also if i get a nano, which color should i get it in, black or blue?
okay, please tell me why to get the ipod touch instead of just typing ' ipod touch'
plus my cousin worked as an intern at an apple corporate building and he said that they aren't going to add a camera to the touch because they would have to make the ipod touch thicker, and apple doesn't want that and that there will be no 128gb. these features don't really matter to me though

An iPod nano is, at heart, an MP3 player. It's great for music, radio, and basic video (it can even record video), but not much more.
An iPod touch is actually more of a "pocket computer" than "music player." It's far more functional than a Nano, and allows you to not only browse the web but also install tons of apps. An iPod touch can be used as an ebook reader, dictionary, and gaming device, to name a few. However, if you just want to listen to music on it, it's overkill. It also doesn't have a radio or a camera.....
