If the house you are renting, gets burned down, then naturally an investigation as to what caused the fire will need to be conducted. The owner of the home will most likely want to hold you at fault. You may need a lawyer to represent you once the cause of the fire is determined. If it is determined that the reason for the fire was due to acts upon your behalf, then the landlord will be attempting to recover his loss. The extent to which this may be will also depend on how or if the property was insured, and what they may be willing to pay him. Either way it would be helpful to keep a lawyer on hand to advise you.

Q. If my rented house burns down what happens to my rental agreement ?
my house burnt down but i still have 12 months left on my contract . is it now null and void or must the owner provide housing at the same price ?

your contract is to lease the house you were in from your landlord. IF there's no house, there is no longer any contract. Now, it goes to who is at fault.... If you set the fire, obviously you lose. If the owner set the fire on purpose to destroy his property, then a judge will award you damages in the form of setting you up in a new place and paying for your security deposit. However, if the fire was an accident, then it's an "act of god" or "just an accident" and you're SOL. The owner of the house does *NOT* need to provide housing at the same price. Remember, the owner of the house is more devastated than you are.

Q. The flame on the gas cooker in our rented flat burns orange, is this dangerous ?

Yes, the flame should be blue. Orange means the burner is not working properly and that gas is not being burned, but being released into the air.

Q. How to explain that burning rented dvds is wrong?
hi, my friend has a netflix account, and every dvd he orders, he burns it to a dvd and returns it the same day. now, he says there is no problem in doing this, and that even if it is illegal, "who cares because i can't get caught." how can i explain that what he is doing is not right, even if you can't get caught?

At least he is paying for Netflix. He could be downloading them for free. There is not really much you can do. Many people don't appreciate other's intellectual property until the point they are being ripped off.

Q. Can you burn itunes rented movies onto disc?
or can you only put them on to an ipod or iphone? and also since there rented will there disappear off the ipod or iphone?

iPod can only play mp4 videos. If your videos are the right videos, you can transfer them to ipod directly with iTunes. If your videos are not the right formats, you need to convert them to iPod MP4 formats with a converter: http://www.ripdvdtomp4videoconverter.com/howto-convert-ipod-video-with-ipod-mp4-converter.html If you want to burn the videos to dvd, please use this software: http://www.ripdvdtomp4videoconverter.com/howto-convert-and-burn-video-dvd-with-dvd-creator.html

Q. Can you get caught for burning rented dvds?
how would i get caught?

If it's for own use only i doubt you will get caught unless you get caught doing something else and the cops search your house. It's the people that distribute copies of DVDs that gets caught. You would be pretty low on the radar compared to the bigger fish
