 Q. How do psp's/ ipods keep track of time? i can understand how computers keep track of time, being constantly connected to the internet.
but how do things like psps and ipods do it? even after you turn them off and back on again, the time is still kept...
i would think there would be an internal clock within the system, but wouldnt that drain battery life?
"It saves the time "12:00am"..."
It's always running no matter what. But it's basically saved...lets say if you turn off ur PSP at....12:00 am. it saves the time "12:00am" then internally it then it records how long u've been off. so if u turn it back on at 1 am then inside it...it knows its been off for 1 hour. so it adds 1 hour to 12 and u have 1 am. its hard to explain but its like.....its a computer, its smart, kind of...but basically, once u turn it off, it records how long its been off (1sec, 1 min, 1 hr etc) then adds it to the time it turned off

 Q. How is it possible for people to be listening to their ipods all the time? i see several people who always have their ipods on. i don't get it. i tried doing it, but it just doesnt work for me? maybe its because i dont like my songs very much (i havent gotten anything new in a long time)
i feel like talking to people and listening to ipod/mp3 player isnt a good mix . idk does anyone else feel this way?
"It's just ipods are the "cool"..."
They probably don't even have music playing, it's just Ipods are the "cool" thing and everyone wants to be accepted, so they want everyone to see their trendy little white earbuds.

 Q. Can you have two ipods plugged into your computer at the same time? i have two ipods and it's a little frustrating always plugging one in at a time to download music. since my computer has multiple usb drives, could both ipods be plugged in at the same time?
thanks so much! :)
you sure can!
and you can use your ipod on multiple computers if you adjust the setting to "manage own music".... that's good to have if a friend has a song you want you can just hook up your ipod and grab the song.

 Q. Why are students not allowed to listen to mp3s and ipods during school work time? ok so i have to write a persuasive essay and i don't understand why my topic is not allowed. i'm not asking this question for like college students, but for middle and high school students. i want to know what a school board person wold think. what do you think?
music is very distracting and will take your attention off your work
what if your teacher has instructions and you can't hear what they say?
Back in highschool during some option courses i'd have some teachers who'd let me listen to an ipod during class(where some options were project based with minimal teacher instruction) so if your not in highschool you might just want to wait.

 Q. How many people have batteries or ipods die at the worst possibble time? this is a survey based question, the idea is to find out how many people have this problem, not a solution. so how many of us are actually forgetful enough not to charge our batteries or ipods?
if possible leave age group, 16-18, 18-21, 21-30, 30-40, 40+
It's getting harder to find mp3 palyers that use standard AAA batteries as they all seem to be going to those internal lithium batteries. And I don't like them. It doesn't matter if I forgot to charge it, or if I've played it too long and they just wore out, or whatever the reason is. If I'm somewhere that I can't charge it, I should be able to stop into any store and buy replacement batteries, which I can't do.
How would you like to be driving a car that runs on some exotic fuel and it goes dead, while there are dozens of gas stations around you that don't do you one bit of good? Pretty worthless vehicle, and so are these gadgets that run on 'geek' batteries.
