They are in trouble and they know it. Most the time we won't see these ads until the summer or fall, this is way early.

hey guys i've always thought they start designing the following season's car because of a change in rules that allow them to make the changes for the following season but as far as i'm aware there haven't been any realeases on aerodynamic changes for next season. yet brawn have started testing aerodynamic changes for their 2010 car. is it just because they need that long to decide on the big changes? thanks (go mclaren :d)

The teams are constantly testing updates and improvements. Some of them can be used this season, and some will find their way into next year's car. Changes in rules are *supposed* to be made with some notice, which gives teams time to integrate the data. However, lately the Dumb and Dumber show has been trying to get around that rule.

I not sure exactly when Toyota makes their cars available for purchase. Typically, most car makers begin making the new model year available sometime in the fall of the previous year. So, for the 2010s, this would be in the fall of 2009. If you want a more actual date, I would talk to someone at a local Toyota dealership.

So far, there aren't any interesting automobiles coming out of the Mitsubishi stable besides the Mitsubishi iMIEV, an electric vehicle. The Lancers are all here, sedans and hatchbacks alike. The Evo X is unchanged but still packs a lot of potential specially the GSR. The Galant lost or is losing the V6. The Outlander has a modified front fascia that coincides with the Evo theme. It's all economy driven. We'll see what Mitsubishi comes up in the coming North American Auto Show in Detroit in January, if the company ever decide to participate. They opted not to show in January of this year. The Eclipse is scheduled to be replaced by an all new Eclipse very soon. Talks are, it'll be like the Concept RA shown in Detroit 2 years ago. Tough times...

i know 2009 models are still sold as new cars on the lot, but what about the 08s?

If they haven't been sold yet, they are still new. There could be a 7 year old car with 100,000 miles that could be sold as "new" if it was never titled to anyone.

Q. On a carfax report should i worry if the last entry is jan 09 and it is now feb 2010? do cars sit that long?
i read the report and the car was put up for sale on 1/09 and there is no activity from then on. it is now feb 2010. do cars usually sit that long at the dealer? what would be the reason for the gap? just curious.

Most mechanics dont put every oil change on reports, and if the last owner of the car lived in a county such as myself where cars do not need emissions for tag renewal that would be a cause for the gap. You should be fine though
