From what I have heard Yes. Sometime after September 8th. If you look at the Apple Website they are giving away an iPod Touch when you purchase a Mac and the Promotion Ends on September 8th . So it looks like they are clearing inventory for whatever they have left.

the new gens of ipods has already came out. the shuffles were released a few months ago, the nano got larger capacity and a video camera, the Classics were upgraded to 160 gigs, and the Touch was upgraded to 32 and 64 gigs, eliminating the 8 and 16 gigs. they wont be changing the look of the iPods any time soon, just the capacities

Hi, It's not "officially" true that there will be a new iPod touch with a camera in it (or iPod nano ), but for the past few years, Apple has held iPod conferences in September, introducing the next generation models for the holiday season. Anyway, there have been many rumors that the next generation iPod touch will have a camera (and possibly a microphone!). There are also rumors about an iPod nano with a camera too, and normally when there are this many rumors, it turns out to be true. So in conclusion, while it's not "true", I think it will be.

Yes, there will be a larger iPod touch, about 7 inches by 9 inches. It will have 2 different camera models, depending on the price: 2 and 4 megapixels. The iPod will also have a microphone. 8 GB will be removed and replaced with 64GB, and the latest wifi and Bluetooth chips will come with it. Apple are attempting to convince 3rd parties to invent a gaming controller, iControl. This will clip to each side, and will work with the graphics card inside, which is capable of playing Playsration 3 or Xbox 360 Games. If you preorder the iPod touch, you recieve a code which you enter on the App Store to get Halo 3: ODST, since Apple have agreed to modify Boot Camp for Microsoft, as long as Microsoft creates Halo 3:ODST for iPhone 3GS and the iPod touch Giant. ODST will be exacly as it is on Xbox 360, including the new achievements on firmware 3.1, like the Xbox. And yes, there will be Forge, since ODST is fully featured.

hi. I have the same problem 2. don't know whether I should go for the 3rd gen or wait for the 4th. I'm guessing the major differences will be in the processor and it will probably have a camera, so depends what you want whether you should wait out or not.

I would wait until september last year they didn't add much to the ipod touch so this year it will probable be like a major upgrade. Do not listen to the people that say o it's going to be 7inches.... It is an ipod not a computer guys. A lot of rumors say it is going to have a camera more storage, bluetooth of course, and gps. I made the mistake of buying mine last july and was very disappointed when september hit. Wait until september if you like the new one get it, if you like the old one get it. If you buy one now like I did you won't have the opportunity to choose later. It is only 2 months away.
