ipod touch 4th generation is out and i have ipod touch 3rdeneration is it possible for me to go to the store and exchange my 3rd generation for 4th generation and if so how much will it cost

Someone said: trading in an old ipod for a new one only takes 10% off the new purchase, which isnt much. might as well sell ur ipod for 200 and pay another hundred to get a 32GB model.

if you already have an ipod nano with a different size and it works good for you then why will you need it but if you don`t have any ipod nano then it all depend on what you are willing to pay, what you will planing to put in your ipod and what you will use the ipod for, if you where asking about two different types from the ipod any one can help you, but you ask about the same ipod only the different in the size, you can also decide that by checking the amount of money you are welling to pay in the ipod, and if you don`t buy it until now you can wait for the next generation from the ipod because it will be released soon

They are just RUMORS...and they will remain rumors, until probably Sept each year, this year being Sept 2010, apple is notorious for being super tight lipped about this stuff too! Note; But apple has announce a "big media event" is scheduled for Jan 27th <----not a rumor....but the rumors about that are that it's to release a totally new product called the "Apple Tablet", rumored to be much like a 10 inch ipod touch.

i heard that you can get a ipod 3g and sync it to your computer and get the new software on to it but i want to know if they will make an entirely new ipod touch 4g that comes with all the new features and everything else.

Yes, the new iPod Touch will be announced in September. (it's when all the new iPods are announced every year). It will have iOS 4 (with multitasking) and probably even a camera (or two) with Face Time. It will probably have an all new design and a high resolution screen (like iPhone 4).

I think you should ask yourself first whether you really need an iPod Touch badly right now or you can wait for 4 months (those months will fly by really fast). Predicting what the features will be of the 4G is rather hard, but these are the ones that I can come up with: - Possible longer battery life - Better speakers - Maybe a bigger/better screen - Faster - Maybe lower price (which means, if you buy the 3G now, you might get more/better capacities with the 4G for what you payed.) - Who knows, they might include a camera this time (or maybe not, I really expected a camera with the 3G) - Maybe a new sleeker design I think the things I mentioned above (ok, maybe except for the camera + new design) are quite realistic. No matter what, the 4G will be an improvement, even though those might seem to be little things. I think it is worth the 4 months wait. But if you really want to buy the 3G now, take extremely good care of it, use a case, protect it from scratches and just sell your 3G close to september. I am very sure you should be able to get your money back and buy the 4G with it. I'm personally jumping from a first generation to the 4G, so the change is big for me. The first generation does not support the OS 4.0 AT ALL, sucks, but understandable, so I am ready for the upgrade :) Also knowing I payed 400 euro's for 16GB in the past, I can get a 64 GB for only 369 euros now, that's a big difference! Overall, I think you have more pros than cons. It's up to you :)

No one knows and no one will know until that day in early Sept AFTER apple releases them! Sorry but that is a fact....although what is no secret is that apple is the most secretive company around, seriously!

currently the latest ipod is the 3g but there is talk about a 4th generation appearing sometime in september. for the 3rd generation the cheapest one you can get is $199 8gb(with tax), then its $299 for the 32gb and $399 for the 64gb. if you think about getting one in july then maybe waiting until september for the new version might be a good idea.
