hey ara, the new ipod generation should come out this fall, somewhere inbetween the month of september and the month of november. If they are actually working on a whole new ipod is pretty questionable, because what else could they implement? But companies always have alot of ideas! However, to always stay updated on what is happening over at apple and what products they are bringing out and the new generations of their products just check http://www.apple.com and if they have anything to announce regarding this, they will announce it on that page, since it`s their official homepage and they want us to be up to date with their new stuff.

We'll see if/when it gets here. I suggest you buy the one out now and if/when another one comes out sell yours on eBay! Thats what I do

Well inside the iPhone OS 3.0 firmware architecture there was an iPod3,1 in it. Which is code for the 3rd generation iPod touch. Based on Apple's refresh structure that could be announced/released in September. They may (as usual) release newer versions of the classic, nano shuffle as well, but its not a guarantee.
